• 1992 - Metropolitan Hardwood Floors established in Vancouver, Canada
• 1993 - Export division opened to serve Pacific Rim markets
• 1996 – Metro USA established to serve customers in Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii
• 1999 - New Canadian administration & distribution facility opened
• 2003 – Introduced exclusive new Kentwood Collection of exotic & specialty floors
• 2004 - Canadian operations relocated to new & larger administration, showroom & distribution facilities on Annacis Island in Delta, BC
• 2005 - US operations expanded to add additional warehouse and distribution facilities
• 2006 - Metro awarded FSC Chain of Custody Certification, enabling the company to sell FSC certified products
• 2006 - European office established to distribute The Kentwood Collection in Europe
• 2007 - Metro East opens in Ontario to distribute The Kentwood Collection in eastern Canada
• 2008 - Metro introduces new specialty collections: Couture Collection by Kentwood and Elements by Kentwood
• 2010 - Metro adds new line of premium quality laminates called Evoke
• 2011 - Evoke line expands with new luxury vinyl products

Professional Affiliations & Memberships

	The National Wood Flooring Association represents all segments of the hardwood flooring industry and promotes the highest standards among all its members. The NWFA provides both training for wood flooring professionals and exceptional consumer resources to assure that the consumer will receive high-quality flooring that will last a lifetime.
	The International Wood Products Association is committed to the promotion and enhancement of responsible trade in the imported hardwood and softwood products industry. Among its many significant activities is the management of Conservation, Utilization, Reforestation, Education (CURE), an environmental education and outreach program that works successfully to protect both the tropical forests and the international tropical timber trade. Metropolitan’s ECO, Elizabeth Baldwin, chairs the association’s Flooring Committee and serves on the board of directors.
	The National Hardwood Lumber Association was founded in 1898 to establish a uniform system of grading rules for the measurement and inspection of hardwood lumber. Today, the NHLA is the oldest and largest association representing all sectors of the hardwood industry and its standards and rules are employed worldwide.
	The goal of the Floorcovering Institute of Ontario is to create, promote and foster and encourage interest and consumer confidence in floor covering and to promote awareness to the asthetic and functional values of floor coverings and to promote, establish and maintain standards for the flooring covering industry. Metropolitan’s own Andre Tesolin serves as the association’s VP.
	With more than 1,300 members, BILD, formed through the merger of the Greater Toronto Home Builders' Association and Urban Development Institute/Ontario is the voice of the residential land development, home building and professional renovation industry in the Greater Toronto Area.
	Since its inception in 1934, the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario has grown to become the largest professional association of interior designers in Canada. ARIDO represents the interior design profession to the general public and at the municipal and provincial levels of government.
